VaKo
You might be able to do something fun with SNMP or WMI info.

VaKo
SNMP would do pretty much what your after. Then you could use Munin to display graphs of various system varibles. http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/380 It would require a *nix box somewhere on the network, but you could just setup a freeBSD VM and use that. n0x
Dude, first, you need to spell Monitoring correctly, lolz. Anyway, Cacti (http://www.cacti.net/) is a free monitoring tool that uses SNMP to gather information from your servers. Make sure to install SNMP and configure the IP of your Cacti Server in the Security Tab of the SNMP properties. If you are looking for Enterprise Monitoring, have a large budget, and are primarily a windows shop, then Microsoft SCOM is the flagship product for end-to-end service-management. For more info check out (http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/operationsmanager/en/us/default.aspx). Also, for Misc SCOM tips and tricks, read my blog: http://www.laurencevandeyar.com.
