Well, its not an Intel or AMD processor, but from what I hear, XP runs on just about anything so long as it has the correct instruction sets in the cpu. I imagine it should be able to run off of it. digip Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 In what way does his ISP 'requier xp or vista'? Yeah, that doesnt seem right, unless he uses some sort of custom IE browser that the ISP forces or something, but still, never heard of such a thing. Quote
Corrosion. Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 To install his dsl modem.... dunno why they require it they just do... His current pc is a P1! Quote
Sparda Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I would recommend getting a router. Makes life hela easier and it means no half hacked drivers to install too. Quote

As for the ISP thing, if he got a router as Sparda said then there'd be no need to use any particular OS. It's probable that you could still connect from any other OS but drivers might prevent you from installing the hardware required. The hardware is the only issue though, it doesn't matter which OS you connect to the internet with, whoever your ISP is. Quote
Corrosion. Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks, I have a new router never used. I'll give that to him as well Quote
