If you give me a car for free, I'll put a bumper sticker on it that says I bought it from you, and you will get more business. Quote

tim.vangehugten Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Check out my work: http://xxdigipxx.deviantart.com/gallery/ I did, and you made some nice things, especially that Night Eclipse looks good with all the light effect. How long did it take you to make it? (I'm just curious) Quote

How long did it take you to make it? (I'm just curious) Hmm, that one, maybe a few minutes. That one isnt really too difficult to do. Its the ones where I have to take someone elses stock and have to spend hours trying to cut them out of the pic to place into a scene where I spend most of my time. Like this one: http://xxdigipxx.deviantart.com/art/Little-Dreamer-79420519 has like 20 layers to make it look this way which all started with this one pic: http://rammkitty-stock.deviantart.com/art/...reamer-75205147 Quote

digip Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 What was your technique for the shadows. Depending on the shape you can do it several ways. The easiest way is to just ise the built in "drop shadow" effect, then under layer options maye a new layer from jsut the shadow. I then use transform to distort and change its perspective. Example, the clocks shadow initially was behind itas all drop shadows show up that way. I then sperated the drop shadow form its layer and then manipulate dit where I wanted it. For other objects its sometimes easier to create a layer over or under it and then just color with a soft brush aroudn the object in black, then lower the fill and opacity until the desired effect happens. This is alsu usefull for when your doing shadows against objects that bend the light and you can make the shadow move when it intersects other objects, like a telephone pole shadow coming off a sidwalk curb onto the street. Think of it like looking at a pole in water the water bends the image form where it meets the water to where it ends up at eitehr end from there, even if the pole were straight, your vision sees it as bent. In this case, painting in a drop shadow is easier than using the built in ones. Quote
