madguernseyboy
I recently bought a Linksys WRT54GL and flashed it with the DD-WRT firmware. though now i am having a slight problem setting up my Internet. am presenly using a Netgear DG834G (ADSL2 Modem router) for my PPPoA Internet connection. i would like the Netgear box to pass my Internet connection on to the Linksys Internet port. i know the problem is with my sketchy understanding. Do i set up my Netgear box with DHCP? What settings should i put on the Linksys box for the internet connection. Netgear ip. 192.168.0.1 Linksys ip 192.168.0.2 (I think)
Sparda
You would set the netgear to bridge the connection. Then tell the WRT to do PPPoE authentication using your user name and password.
madguernseyboy
Thanks Sparda. In the Netgear settings there is no selection for bridging. Do i just leave it blank then instead? MGB
madguernseyboy
ok thanks very much. the info you gave me was enough for me to find something on Google for others who may want to know to get your netgear modem/router in to bridging mode you must go to a hidden address. 192.168.0.1/mode.htm
