Running Ad-Hoc to a router?

So, I'm installing a system in my SHO-car(pun intended, it's a '93 SHO), and I want to be able to use a connection via wifi as well. What I am thinking is to be ale to use my laptop off my tethered EVDO connection if I'm at a camp ground or something.

So I would have the cell tethered to the computer in the car, and have it able to run wifi out. I could use a PSP, iPod Touch, or any other device while at the camp ground(we do a lot of camping when we can).

What I would like is to have the wired network cable run out to the WAN port on an old router I have, and bridge the connections. I could go for the USB adapter(actually have a hacked Nintendo dongle), but it's a lot slower.

Is there a way I could do this?
