Alright i got a pinnacle pctv HD pci video capture card. Well the software that came with it sucks. It basicly to the point it doesn't work. But when i try a webcam program (No audio) it works perfectly except with out the audio. My question is, what program can i use to capture both the audio and video. extra cookies to who ever tells me one i can use the remote with too.

Why not setup the audio through the soundcard and just the video through the video card, or doe sit not let you configure it this way?

I had a capture card that only had video input for capturing that I used with a web cam, but you could run the mic portion of the camera through the sound card so you still had sound from the web cam to go with your video. An all in one video card might be nice, but since sound cards are designed to handle the work load, see if you can re route the audio through the sound card.

The two mic looking holes on the capture card are for the ir and antenna for the fm radio

You do know that they make adapters for RCA to 1/4 inch, right? I use a y cable to split my audio.

I took a pic of mine to show you what I mean. There are like a few dollars at Radio Shack.

Virtual Dub has an option to capture video in AVI. Never used it though. It is a free and easy program to learn, so shouldn't be too hard to figure out the video capture part.

Also, did you bother to search online? Google for help?

well that still has yet to tell me what the best video capture software is.

Yeah, my responce may not have told you what the best software out there is but I was trying to help you get the audio working with your current setup. Why spend money if you can use what you have with a little work around to get the sound going with your current setup?

There are so many programs that already do what you want but most come with the hardware as well as the remote. Windows Movie Maker should be able to do the recordings, but not sure about the remote. BSODtv always has segments on hacking your pc to use any remote and program the buttons to do functions you want. Maybe download the last few episodes and see what they reviwed and try to get it to work with your current setup.
