I just installed it and after awhile i get this error. http://vgeneration.net/pic/servererror.jpg Its probably a virus. (im thinking this for certain reasons. :D ) I would update to windows xp but this computer is too old to run it. :( Quote

digip Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 You said it was old, maybe something in the hardware is causing issues and crashing the system. It may be so old that Ubuntu can;t run with it's hardware specs/resources available to it. I have an older pc that Ubuntu fails to load on as well, so it is probably a hardware limitation as far as Ubuntu goes. The 'shutdown' not found, sounds like you did something to the system or something/someone else did something to your system. Tried reinstalling Windows? I never heard of a pc that could install win2000 but not XP. I have XP on my wifes pc with 333mhz, 512 meg ram and the pc is old as sh*t. Quote
