simple NIC card question

Trying to install a NIC on Server 2003 Enterprise... it wont load the drivers for xp... its a netgear fa311, im not too familiar with server 2003, do i need a specific piece of hardware for a NIC?

im guessing its not working for some obvious reason i havent thought of...

Just get an intel NIC? You can usually find them in junked P3/P4 systems which pre-date intergrated NICs being widespread. I've never had this problem myself as I use a  customized version of Windows 2003 with drivers for *everything* on the install disc from the get go (driverpacks.net)

Have you tried installing the drivers first then manually adding the hardware through the "Add Hardware" applet in the Control Panel.
