b0xybr0wn Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 is there a way to turn off control of the pc and just view it? for instance, if i move my mouse, i dont want it to move on the remote machine. it would be ideal to toggle it on and off but if there is just a way to disable control.thanks Quote

puredistortion Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 If you are doing this to monitor some one it becomes obvious to the user when you are logging in to view via VNC as it freaks with the desktop, we had a boss that used to do it and we could tell as it would drop background images and do other weird things to your desktop. You can turn off things like drop background and all that stuff. It's only made for people with a slow connection, so they won't have to load the entire graphical desktop picture everytime the screen refreshes. Quote
b0xybr0wn Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 how do you get tightvnc to not drop background and stuff? do you have to edit it on the server side? if so how so? Quote
