xaero
i need a workaround for installing the painful drivers.. situation : everytime i reformat and install windows, i need to install my drivers and stuff all over again, it takes a really LONG time to install them plus my daily applications and games.. and microsoft security patches... question : is it possible to clone my current HD state right after i installed my dirvers? and restore it to that exact same state when i plan to format windows again? will it work? will it conflict with the "activate your version of windows" thingie? VaKo
An alternative would be to roll your own distribution of windows with nlite , and make it include all your drivers, updates etc from the get go.
xaero
ok thanks, so if u were to take an image of my drive, the normal reformat would be replaced with restoring the image right? -i'll check out nlite too.. test it on a virtual machine first.. Nlite is very easy to use. Just slipstream everything with it and you are good to go!

Deveant
the only issue you may find wif making an image of the HDD, is hardware compatabilty issues, this is to say, f you change hardware then need to format, your image may become useless, were as with Nlite, this is not so.
