brett teh panda
Hi, I have tried to use pandora's jar many times but have never successfully gotten it to work; but that is beside the point. I was wondering how Pandora's Jar gets the ID3 information of the songs it downloads. I am interested because you can download the songs just by looking at the requests send to the Pandora server. With these requests you can download the actual songs, but they will have no file format (so you add .mp3) and then you have to manually rename the file. So I was wondering how Pandora's Jar gets the filename information, so that I might be able to implement it for my own needs. Thank you in advance. darkone_05
It just grabs it from the request sent to the pandora server. When ripping the song, it uses that info with cddb to attempt to find further info on the track.
Pichet
Is any of you suggesting that the musical files are transfered twice even if it's already there?
darkone_05
Pandora only seems to cache a couple songs at a time in temp, so and it only downloads the file once. If you were to happen to catch the same song, maybe 15 minutes apart, chances are it would have already deleted the old version.
