AndyzBong Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Hey all, I ran across an interesting open-source project for Linux called "The Law Enforcement and Forensic Examiner Intro to Linux" at ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/pub/ig/ccd/linuxintro/. I was just wondering if anyone has used this particular set of "tools and hands on projects"? Thoughts? Etc.. Also, this is going to be a really dumb question. I was bored the other day and visiting MySpace.com servers and sub-directories and I found this page on (what I believe to be the web-server of their "image server"(?) Anyways, here is the link. I'm interested in your opinions as to what "heartbeat" is and correcting all of my misinformation. Is it just some random web-server junk? http://a409.ac-images.myspacecdn.com - AndyzBong Quote
Iain Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I tried to see the site but it's down. Did you grab the article & any tools? Quote

The sites not down if you look at the link it is ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/pub/ig/ccd/linuxintro/ but the hyperlink points to http://www.ftp.com//ftp.hq.nasa.gov/pub/ig/ccd/linuxintro/ Quote
secret52 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I was interested in what was stored on the FTP server for the linux intro. I accidently copied a lot less of the ftp link than I should have. Fortunately, I found that you can go all the way to [ftp=ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/]ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/[/ftp] without having to enter a username and password. One of the folders that I browsed into contained eudora.ini as one of the files. Here's a little bit of what's stored in it: [settings] POPAccount=kdwyer@mail.hq.nasa.gov SMTPServer=smtp.hq.nasa.gov FingerServer=finger.hq.nasa.gov PhServer=ph.hq.nasa.gov DomainQualifier=hq.nasa.gov SavePasswordText= SaveDialupPasswordText= LasOptionsCategory=6 AutoReceiveAttachments=8 AutoReceiveAttachmentsDirectory=C:Program FilesEudoraAttach CheckForMailEvery=30 ShowProgress=1 AuthenticatePassword=0 AuthenticateAPOP=1 DomainQualifier=hq.nasa.gov MAPIUseEudora=0 MAPIUseAlways=1 MAPIUseNever=0 MAPIDeleteSend=1 ReplyToAll=1 MainWindowState=3 ZoomWindows=1 FingerDefault=1 MailboxSuperclose=1 ShowToolTips=0 EasyOpen=0 UserSignatures=1 RegistrationFlag=-1 SuccessfulSend=1 AddressKeepForeground=0 DeleteMailFromServer=1 LeaveOnServerDays=5 ServerDelete=1 AsyncDatabase=0 AsyncWinsock=0 MboxBarFloatHeight=150 MboxBarFloatWidth=200 MboxBarDockHeight=183 MboxBarDockWidth=109 ScreenFontSize=9 PrinterFontSize=10 PrinterFont=Century Schoolbook MailboxShowLabel=1 AutoExpandNicknames=1 WarnQueueNoSubject=1 WarnChangedMessageReadonly=1 WarnDefaultMailto=0 Alert=0 OpenInMailbox=1 SpellOnQueue=0 CheckMailByDefault=1 AutoAttachedDeleteSend=1 AutoAttachedDeleteTrash=0 AutoConnectionPassword= URLHelper=C:Progra~1NetscapeCommun~1ProgramNetscape.exe RealName=Kimberly Dwyer Mullings ReturnAddress=kdwyer@hq.nasa.gov NGBase2=959356653 NGLast2=959356653 NGBase4=959356653 NGLast4=959356653 Mode=2 LastWindowMax=1 ShowCategoryIcons=1 PopServer=mail.hq.nasa.gov PersonaViewAccountWidth=200 DontShowUpdates=1 DontShowAudit=1 WarnLaunchExtensions=exe|com|bat|cmd|pif|htm|do|xl|reg|lnk|vbs|shs|url ShowMDITaskbar=1 AdToolbarDock=0 DontCheckUnconnected=0 Commercial32Version=16 TaskStatusStatusWidth=160 MailboxPreviewPane=0 MailboxShowServerStatus=0 SeenPlugins=x515x RegLastNamePro=SiteLicense RegFirstNamePro=NASA-MSFC NGBase1=959356653 NGLast1=959356653 NGBase3=959356653 NGLast3=959356653 NGBase5=959356653 NGLast5=959356653 RegCodePro=5915-7837-9719-9341 ScreenFontBaseSize=0 LastOptionsCategory=6 TaskStatusStateWidth=120 WarnDeleteUnread=1 MailboxShowSize=1 NewMailSound= NicknameLastActivePropertyPage=0 LocalTimeDisplay=0 TaskStatusProgressWidth=106 Not exactly sure what that means, but I'm sure that it can't be good that it's on the net for people to see. It was found in this directory: [ftp=ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/forms/form/]ftp://ftp.hq.nasa.gov/forms/form/[/ftp]. Happy browsing. Quote
meister_sd Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 From the root login, goto Users2 > pao and you can find many old and recent photographs NASA has taken from Apollo missions to the MIR spacestation to Mars photos. Many are high quality. I think the pao is the Public Affairs Office, which distributes these kinds of publicity photos. Quote
AndyzBong Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 RealName=Kimberly Dwyer Mullings ReturnAddress=kdwyer@hq.nasa.gov Not exactly sure what that means, but I'm sure that it can't be good that it's on the net for people to see. Kimberly might not be too happy to find out that her full name and work email are so public. Very nice find secret52. Quote
