The computers used a program as the dashboard, (this was years ago, the text that was displayed on the screen was just pulled from a text file, easiest hack i ever did. WHERE ON A HACKING WEBSITE. HAK5. in a forum named hacking. Cmon people. But what do I know.... I'm just the peon that loves to get blamed by your parents for "ruining" your education, when it was you the student who already ruined it. Most likely he will either want someone to test his network so he can secure it, or he will be so sure his network is secure from anything you can do that he will tell you to try your best. In either situation after you have PERMISSION start looking around on the computer to find something useful. How will you learn anything if you got told how to exploit a system? You will learn much more if you bothered to look at the system yourself. I also stress that going to your system administrator and saying I want to learn more about computers will actually benefit you. Secondly when has this site ever been called a hacking website? If you look around the forums a bit more you will notice that this is not a hacking website this is an educational website. Thirdly a lot of people here are system administrators or work in a position where they are trying to prevent people exploiting their network, If they were to tell you how to exploit a system they would be going against what they strand for but could also be liable if you did something stupid with the information they provide. moonlit Posted September 21, 2007 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Several points here, I'll try to stay brief. 1) This community, despite its name and how people interpret it, is NOT about cracking networks, owning people, having a laugh by killing someone's machine or network or any other such irritating bollocks. 2) I appreciate (as I'm sure others here do) that some people just want a laugh. We all do, we just don't always share the same sense of humour. That said, I'm not going to explain to you how to kill the school network for 10 minutes or how to remotely control someone's computer whether I know how to or not, I'm not even going to give you a clue. Why? Because it's a waste of my time, it'll be a waste of your time, and it'll be a waste of time for the poor bastard who has to clear it up. If you wanna know how to do it, teach yourself. Even if you do piss 20 people off in the process, at least you learnt something, at least it wasn't just a practical joke. Just don't tell them we sent you. Another quick point here is what about the poor bastards trying to actually do some work? Network goes down, that might screw them badly, you don't know. Sure, there'll be half a dozen kids shouting for joy because their lesson's on hold or because they get out of class early, but that doesn't help anyone. 3) In response to the "just tell us once, then we'll stop asking" comment above, what would be the point in that? We refuse to tell you for many reasons, and most of those reasons would go right out the window if we just exploded in to a subforum full of instructions that told you everything from a to z about hacking the school, owning friends and annoying people. It's the principle. As I said above, doing most of the stuff people want to do is a waste of everyone's time, including your own. Do something productive instead. 4) If we tell you everything, even if we didn't have a problem with hacking school networks, you still wouldn't learn anything. If you use a little brain power... be careful, explore, see what makes the network... well, work... I'm not suggesting you do this without permission because as we've said a mind numbingly, breath-takingly large amount of times before, you can get punished badly for this, but at least if we didn't tell you how to do it you gained some experience in to the way networks (specifically that one) are configured. Hacking isn't about a quick way to own people, it's about experimentation, exploration, learning and experience. Sure, it might be hilarious to eject someone's CD tray 50 time per minute, it might be side-splittingly funny to send messages across the network, it might even make your piss yourself when everyone's network shares quit responding... but who did this help? If you want to learn to be a hacker, you have to learn an awful lot more, and I'd never give the name hacker to someone who just thinks it's cool to screw with people/networks for amusement or gain (though I'm not sure I have the right to call anyone a hacker). I'm trailing off here, but essentially what I'm saying is don't be a dick, and if you're going to be then at least make it worth someone's while to deal with it and its consequences. Learn where you can, stay out of trouble where you can't. Talk to people who know things, but don't expect all the answers. Use computers everywhere, but if they're not yours then treat them with care. Learn things yourself, if someone doesn't want to teach you then you may be doing something wrong... check your attitude... if you come across like some irritating 14 year old punk of a kid who seems to enjoy nothing more than ROFLing because his sysadmin has to spend the next 3 hours fixing the crap he did, we're not going to help you. markhimself Posted October 30, 2007 Share Posted October 30, 2007 hacking my school network : started a while back... at school, our school runs windows xp pro machines, normal setup, net support ie website blocker and some governement inernet proxy... so me and a mate went on IE, and downloaded opera, (suprise it was unblocked).. cos u cant install to the C: drive, we installed it to our personal user documents (located on the server). we then went on a techers computer while they left their desk, and noticed the techers proxy for the internet was different to the students (students port 8082, where as teachers port 8084), so we simply changed it in opera (because settings is blocked in IE). there u go - internet unblocked... then we hit another wall, the computers explorer was locked to the max, so using opera we downloaded a explorer alternative called Servant Salamander, using this trial we could acsess everything on the network and the c: drives - even the registry. i then noticed that some how i'd unblocked the right click on the desktop, so i made a shortcut, and realised it came up on all the screens in the room, so i spammed the desktop for a while (fun), and then decided to download VLC and run HAK5 Season 3 ep 2 as desktop background = HAK5 on every computer screen in the school:P we then torrented (uTorrent) a copy of Age Of Empires 2, and had a little AOE2 tourney during lessons. we did this by hiding the aoe files (cracked) inside the servers backup file, and then making a desktop shortcut to the start menu.... happy days... we wanted more... we wanted steam:P CS 1.6 baby, but we realised the server firewall blocked the steam connection, so refrencing back to an early hak5 episode, (season 1 i think) Darren told us how to turn the firewall off using command prompt, so i used that and bingo, CS1.6 server running on the school server, everyone playing:P:P one more thing... the school has employed a new peice of software that monitors the pc and records what u do (the admins suspect me for everything these days), so to stop this, i make a new notepad document, run the task kill command (for noobs - taskkill /im xxxx.exe) and i jus simply ended the programs process ill tell u about more when we come up with it xD sorry for the copyed post from another topic, but i put it here jus incase someone missed it and needs the information... Many times Moonlit and Vako have stated, as well as in the welcome section, do not ask how to hack your school, etc, etc. Thread lock just gives them the chance to open a new thread with the same questions, only they may try to disquise it a different way or something. Edit: Just because I'm not very good at being an asshole, I'll explain: This isn't the kind of attitude we encourage here. School isn't there to provide you with free fuckabout computers or a neat torrent connection, it's there for you to go to lessons and socialise. We will never encourage "hacking" school computers, and you'll have noticed this if you've read any of the posts in which people are discussing the matter. If you like to screw with computers that's great, more power to you, but don't do it on other peoples' computers, especially if they're used in a place where many people have to use them. It's a pain in the ass for the IT staff when they have to undo what you've done, it's a pain in the ass for you when you get suspended, expelled, banned from the computers or at the very least the computer isn't there any more because the IT staff had to take it away and fix it. Don't be a dumbass. If you've got any brains you'll read what we've said all over this forum so many times before and take note of it. Just FYI, I'm not threatening you, I'm warning you. Now, I don't mind if you stay here but we want to see less of this "omfg im a 5up3rh4xx0r!!!" and more productive stuff. You posted elsewhere to say you have a machine of your own... why not grab a couple of old boxes and make your own network to learn on (/screw with), or rig up a few virtual machines on your main box? It can be cheap (or free), fun, as easy or as hard as you make it and you'll damn sure learn more. There's only so much I can say and only so many times I can say it, don't make me start banning people just because they come across as stupid. You might be the smartest guy in the world (or you might think you are, or convince others you are) but you sure don't look like it here so far.
