The complete Hak5Live site will be coming soon.

Cheers,

Don't make Alli cry again

On a unrelated matter: You might also want to consider not leaving uSteam on all the time... or putting a "uStream" warning sign on the door of the room the uStream camera is in.

Also 19:00 EDT would be 11:00 GMT+1(?) the same day (either way, it's still 8 hours behind Hak5House time)

19:00 EDT is 00:00 BST, the UK is east of the US.

In Darren's logo, the word "live" should be moved to the side. It now looks like the I is dotted, which is just plain wrong.

In Razor512's logo, the "live" bit is missing, and I feel the letters are too thin.

I'm still working on the site. Currently I'm battling with a javascript snippet that supposedly counts down time until event while adhering to timezones. Most other javascript timers use the clients local time, which isn't worth jack in this case. So far no dice. Oh well, I'll keep on truckin along.

I like the new logo/header image. Its a welcomed change, but maybe the color scheme is a little to white on white. Maybe darken the text a little more so it "pops" or add a beveled effect to the text so it stands out more.

Big improvement there, digip, but I still feel the word "live" should be moved a bit so the dot in Hak.5 doesn't look like a misformatted dot for the i in live.

Well, I couldn't exactly move it since I used Darrens original jpeg. If I had the PSD or layered image I could have seperated them better without messing up the background.

Ok. I have three edits so far. These are not perfect, but just playing around with the fonts a little. I will post links to them instead of the images to save bandwidth on the post since I saved them at full compression, there about 500k a peice. I also reuploaded my changes in the psd file(as a rar file).

Let me know what you think. Anyone not happy with them, let me know what you would like to see moved, changed, etc and I will change it. The PSD file has another layer I was messing with that isn't in these 3 versions, so if you wanted to experiment, or see what else I worked on check out the rar file. The one not shown was the Hak5 Logo with some persepective tilting but I wasn't happy with it and it didn't seem right to mess with the original look of the Hak5 logo, so I left that one out.

The google-fu is strong with this one

I would have included the source code but smf chokes on javascript in messages... probably a good thing

While those mockups look great one of the key things to keep in mind while doing logo design is to keep it simple.

Gradients and small detail are cool, but later down the road they'll come back to bite you in the ass. Vector is key, small color pallets help, and aspect ratios like 16:9 or 4:3 are good rules to follow. It becomes apparent why these rules are worth following when looking at your newly resized logo on the iTunes podcast page, all teenty tiny in a little box. Or when printing t-shirt designs and seeing the cost of full color printing, if you even have it in a vector format.

The one I'm working on right now looks like this: www.hak5live.org/temp/hak5live_logo.rar

It's not great, but it doesn't make me want to puke either. Still, could be much better.
