hsncorrosion Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I am running my own shoutcast radio station (upto 500 listeners) I need to be able to go live anywhere via the internet. For example lets say I'm at a friends house I want to be able to login to an online Admin area connect a mic and go live. I'm using winamp and the shoutcast dsp plugin. (some people say they cant hear my stream http://listen2myradio.com/pirsum.php?ip=20...amp;port=47178) People cant hear my station why? Quote
SomeoneE1se Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 this may be a stupid question but aren't you running you're server from home? why don't you use your own address instead of the listen2myraido shit. People cant hear my station why? really?! havn't you been beaten over the head about include more information other then "it doesn't work" on that note I'll make it work if you give me VNC to your computers Quote
Deveant Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 People cant hear my station why? hmm hard one, 1. Is ur mic turned on? 2. Is ur PC turned on? 3. Are u using windows? 4. Do u have an active interent connection? 5. Have u installed Shoutcast on ur server right? if 'no' then Solutions 1. Turn it on 2. Turn it on 3. Burn... 4. Get one 5. RTFM then re-install. Im thinking that u have set up the server wrong, how about more details? Quote
hsncorrosion Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 ok I figured it out! listen2myradio.com has a firewall and use google ads. So before you can hear the stream via web, winamp, vlc, media player, etc. You must go to. http://haroldsearchnetworks.listen2myradio.com/ And I use listen2myradio for bandwidth purposes, My server only needs to stream to this website and they will stream it upto 500 people, a big help for me. (would there be any way to automaticly verifiy people for the radio station on my site? Prob, not. I think I would need their php source from listen2myradio.com/radio.php) Quote
deleted Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I can here it fine, but I use a Mac and it was difficult to get it working. QuickTime Didn't like it, Winamp isn't for a Mac, VLC through up a few errors like "Invalid Stream", "Not Valid Playlist". I had to get the IP, Give it to my server and stream it to the Mac. Quote

cooper Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I appreciate your how you're insisting that *EVERYTHING* on your site has to appear to come from you. But like you say, that site will give you 500 concurrent streams if you'd simply allow them to put a few ads in their face. Nothing is really free. Deal with it. As for the blocking, kill this url: http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js And everything from this domain: googlesyndication.com After that, all Google ads are history. Quote
hsncorrosion Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 I dont have a problem with the ads at all. I just want the stream to be usable without going there first thats all. I even told them I would place ads on my site if they let me but I've gotten no reply. Quote

cooper Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 On your busiest day you had, on average, 1 visitor every 10 minutes, not excluding any traffic you create on it yourself by working on that site. And yes, the amount of work one has to do to get to the actual download of those PDFs is rediculously, mind numbingly annoying. Quote
