Total hacking n00b.

Recommended Posts

OK, so I came here to learn how to hack all kinds of stuff.  Mostly, I want to learn how to better hack videogame roms (which I'm actually kinda good at), but more importantly, I need to learn how to hack forum passwords, and stuff.  No, not to use them here! I've got a forum that needs to be punished for a very serious insult that happened some time ago.

I'm into making videogames, and comics, and stuff.  Guess that's all.  Hope someone can help me out.  I'm a very desparate squirrel.

Mate, I appreciate your desire to learn, thats applaudable.  But you want to use your newly gained knowledge to exact revenge for some imagined slight on the god damn internet. Thats just pathetic. If you want to learn stuff, by all means stick around and have fun, but if your *only* goal is revenge I would reconsider the steps in your life that brought you to this point.

Welcome! Hooks us up with some links to the comics and whatnot f you have them posted, sounds sweet!

As for the hacking another forum, I wouldn't let that crap take up your time. Revenge is boring.

Now, modding a toaster, thats entertainment!!!

Yeah dude, welcome to the community. We'd love to check out your creativity. Soon its technological and cultural distinctiveness will be added to the collective. Lower your firewall. Resistance is futile.

But seriously whatever that random 12 year old from the xbox live forum said about your mom, a jawa, and a wookie aren't worth the revenge. Don't get worked up about what you read on the Internet, especially on a forum.

On that note, make sure to call your congressional representatives today urging for the support of HR2060. Let them know we don't want the copyright royalty board to squash Internet Radio. Oh, and give money to the EFF. And boycott AT&T. And throw rootkit'd ubuntu CDs at Sony. And why haven't there been any movies with ewoks flying tie-fighters?

While on the topic of things that you shouldn't do, I don't know what you have done, but this page (http://www.freewebs.com/midithesquirrel/index.htm) makes Firefox cry with 100% CPU usage trying to render the scrolling (JavaScript turned off). I don't know what causes it, but it's definitely a reason to close the tab :P

Upon inspection of the html, I suspect it has some thing to do with the excessive use of a tiled transparent gif that is 1 pixle by 1 pixel (http://images.freewebs.com/Images/null.gif, well, I say tiled, but it's actually CSS'ed in, but it has the same effect). This is definitely a Neddy no no.

From computer stupidities (http://www.rinkworks.com/stupid/cs_web.shtml):

I recently visited the site of a company which shall remain unnamed and was frustrated by the extremely slow screen refresh as I scrolled through the page. I investigated and discovered that instead of declaring a plain green background color for the page, they had created a one pixel GIF image which was 'tiled' as a background.

Reading computer stupidity web sites can be educational as well as funny.

Actually, it's because of the 1x1 image at http://images.freewebs.com/Members/Generat...nt/Black/bg.png being used for alpha transparency.

You know I think that's a truncated version, I'm sure I've seen a longer version of that where his arms end up as bloody stumps.

Yeah, My wife said the same thing. She said she saw one where he slams his head into the monitor and then blood spurts out everywhere.

I think that might happen in the version I saw too actually, after his arms were bloody stumps.
