doritrix Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Hi Hak5 Community, I’m working on creating a JSON file for the Icelandic keyboard layout for the Rubber Ducky, and I’ve run into a few challenges. I’ve tried using ChatGPT to generate the layout, but I’m still encountering issues with certain characters and modifier keys not mapping correctly. My goal is to create a fully functional Icelandic JSON file that can correctly type all Icelandic characters (such as á, ð, é, ó, þ, æ, and their uppercase versions) and special symbols according to Icelandic keyboard standards. I’ve tried adjusting HID codes based on resources like the USB HID Usage Tables, but getting reliable mappings, especially for special Icelandic characters, has proven difficult. Has anyone here created or worked on layout for the Rubber Ducky before? Or does anyone have tips or resources for accurately mapping keys, especially for non-standard layouts? Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated, as well as any example layouts or tools that could make this process easier! Thanks in advance for your time and expertise! Here is a link to me process so far: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KqoOtgTJ6htZ_1tNHU6B7SGnfJRzT5pl/view?usp=drive_link Best regards, Halldór Hrafn Quote
dark_pyrro Posted November 7 Posted November 7 When I create or tweak language files for the Ducky (or the Bunny or Croc), I think the easiest way is to use the US json file as base. Then I get an image of a physical US keyboard and simply change any differences. I.e. if an Icelandic char is placed where the asterisk char is located on a physical US keyboard, then just put the Icelandic char where the asterisk char is in the json file, and so on. Quote
dark_pyrro Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Not sure if you've been able to create any working language file yet. If not, here's one I put together. You can try it and see if it works for you. It can at least act as a form of "base" that you can continue to tweak to your liking. https://codeberg.org/dark_pyrro/Icelandic_Layout_Test 1 Quote
