If you listen to techno while you are working you might buy yourself some extra awake time.

It's not worth it man. I can stand about 5 seconds of techno and then feel the urge to either throw up, or throw my stereo out the window.

What you should have suggested is that you should find some up-tempo music that you like. It's best when the lyrics are either not present (WARNING: most instrumental tracks are too slow and will lull you to sleep), non-meaningful (like trance/house) or not pronouncable by mere mortals (grindcore comes to mind here). It's VITAL that the music you listen to has a decent amount of variation, or it will blend into the background, disappear, and lose its 'keeping you awake'-effect.

DO NOT consume any alcohol. It will make you sloppy, and it tends to make you sleepy too.

As for the rest, dude, WTF... :D

Salvador,

Dude, sorry everyone bashed you for the all-caps, not knowing a ton about computers thing. What everyone seems to forget is that we were all noobs at one time.

If you haven't already I highly advise using http://wikipedia.org/ for your research needs. It's a great starting point with a lot of useful information and links to other resources. Once you have more specific questions or general input on topics I hope you'll join us in the discussion here, in lowercase letters.

to finally answer your question although i dought you will read this after all the flaming. first go to distro watch like said but first to get a feel of linux i would check out some live cds http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php

but really go to http://www.remote-exploit.org/index.php/BackTrack and download the live cd of back track not only is it my favorite but good for hacking(remeber that to connect to the net in it type ifconfig eth0 up) once you get a feel of what linux is like google how to partion your hard drive and install it to your pc. once you have done that you will want to learn to go to http://programmingebooks.tk/for programming books http://www.freetechbooks.com/forum-22.htmlfor more books http://www.tldp.org/guides.htmland there for even more reading.

P.S. dont forget google is your friend
