rocketman331
I help plan lans at my university and we've run into a problem with accurate user counts. We request that all lan attendees log into a secure php page. The problem is that its hard to get anyone to take the time to log in. Is there a way to use a proxy redirect and configuring the servers on subnets to only allow access once they log into the page?
cooper
Sure. Use the page as a starting point for setting up firewall rules. Default => /dev/null Anything more specific requires a clearer picture of the LAN. Also, what's so bad about simply counting them at the door? Deveant
i agree with cooper, either count heads at the door or make them sign in, the other way u could do it, is use a net scanner to count the number or connected computers, currently connected to ur server (works even better when u run a DHCP ^_^)
Freakish
You could just put a password on your lan, then when they log in they're given the password.
g-ram
but then they only need to have 1 person log in. dont they?
