ScottyDoes Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Hey all. I've been looking around for a decent open source app to run my tv tuner. I don't need anything special, I just wanna be able to see the input feed on my screen. I've tried things like ChrisTV and I've spent alot of time on google, but if you know any off hand that are good, it'd be nice to know. A windows app would be best, but if there's something good for linux or BSD that's be good to know too. Quote
deleted Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Depends what Tuner you have and what exactly you want the program to do. Quote
moonlit Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 K!TV, works great, loads of features, has recording/screenshotting functions. Quote
ScottyDoes Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Thanks for the quick reply. I'm checking out K!TV right now and I'm also looking at DScalar. It allows me to put a bunch of filters on and allows deinterlacing so its kinda nice. Quote
moonlit Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Yup, it's good stuff... using its (supplied) plugins it also acts as a very basic PVR too, which is quite useful. Quote
linux_n0ob Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Depending on what type of tuner you have you should check out MythTV if your using linux. If you have a big spare drive sitting around you could also just download Knoppmyth which is a distro with mythTV builtin. Thats what i use, it works great. If your using Windows checkout media portal or GB-PVR. Quote
