I wouldn't recommend it. There's a reason that the MT7612 chipset is the officially recommended one for the Mark VII. It's not totally impossible to get other chipsets to work in an OpenWrt environment, but if you consider using it with the features of the Pineapple, it's not a route I would suggest to travel. Depending on what the "x" in RTL88x2bu stands for, at least the 8812 chipset has been considered very unsupported with garbage drivers. If using something else than the MT7612, I guess you're pretty much on your own. At least when it comes to official support.
