s_o_r_c_e_r_e_r
Hi I've got a Plexgear wifi adapter with a RTL88x2bu chip in it. Will this work with the mk vii? Under packages the closest match is 8822be and 8822ce, but none of them seems to work. Has anyone else gotten this adapter to work on the mk vii?, and if so, how? Any help would be much appreciated. dark_pyrro
I wouldn't recommend it. There's a reason that the MT7612 chipset is the officially recommended one for the Mark VII. It's not totally impossible to get other chipsets to work in an OpenWrt environment, but if you consider using it with the features of the Pineapple, it's not a route I would suggest to travel. Depending on what the "x" in RTL88x2bu stands for, at least the 8812 chipset has been considered very unsupported with garbage drivers. If using something else than the MT7612, I guess you're pretty much on your own. At least when it comes to official support.
DramaKing
I can't get a generic MT7921u adapter to work, which is the same as the 5GHz module.
