usernameispassword
I've found my HP Laptop running Windows 10 is flooding my network with ARP asking for ips in the range of 169.254.0.0/16. What could be causing this? Why is it doing that? How could I stop it?
dark_pyrro
That's the link-local range (APIPA if you ask Microsoft). You have to provide more information though to be able to suggest things. In what way have you discovered this? Wireshark? Where is the "probe" positioned in the network? In what way is the laptop configured when it comes to network settings? How is the network (to which it is connected) set up? What other clients or servers are on the network? Arp in itself is a pretty talkative protocol so you have to define "flooding", what do you mean when using that word? Finding a fair amount of arp requests and responses when looking at network traffic flows isn't strange at all.
