turb2
Hello all, I have wifi pineapple nano but cant make it work. I have already seen multiple posts regarding unbricking, rebooting, factory resets but none seem to work. Also, I do not have a Y USB cable so i connect it directly to PC, laptop or power outlet (tried all of combinations). My issue is that i cannot connect even when i do factory reset. The steps i am doing are: Hold reset button Plug pineapple nano into PC/laptop and hold reset button for like 10 seconds Add IP from range 192.168.1.0/24 and set interface up (route is added automatically) Visit http://192.168.1.1 --> this does not work, im receiving timeout. Throughout this whole process LED stays blue and does not blink at all. I suspect that issue is with the device since link is down: sudo ip addr add 192.168.1.111/24 dev eth1 sudo ip link set eth1 up ip link show dev eth1 11: eth1: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 00:c0:ca:8d:dc:1b brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff Dmesg: [27249.973846] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 7 using ehci-pci [27250.362409] usb 1-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0b95, idProduct=772a, bcdDevice= 0.01 [27250.362417] usb 1-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [27250.362422] usb 1-1: Product: AX88x72A [27250.362426] usb 1-1: Manufacturer: ASIX Elec. AX88772A Fast Ethernet My setup is Kali running in VirtualBox (USB device is passed to VM), Host OS is Windows 10. Also, tried switching different version of USB support in VirtualBox settings. It seems like i cannot access the device at all. Anyone had similar issue and was able to solve it? Any other ideas to try? Regards.

Moreover, you can see that device is recognized. Also, I tried plugging the device directly into the Linux PC but same results.
Irukandji
Have you tried passing it through the virtual machine? https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/UserManual.html#usb-support And there should be usb thing on the bottom right of the Virtualbox Window. Yes, it is passed to the VM. As i wrote in the first post, i tried using all versions of usb support. You can see on command outputs that device is recognized which would not be the case without passing USB in VM settings. Also, connecting directly to the PC gives same results. Thats why i tried to reset it or reboot it but nothing seemed to work.

hirpus77
Good evening, i have the very same output and problems. No connecting to the pinapple nano.
dark_pyrro
Why not skip attaching the Nano to the host/guest and instead connect to the Nano from the VM using a WiFi adapter instead. I find it easier and more flexible to just pass a WiFi NIC to the guest VM and then connect to the management AP of the Nano.
