hsncorrosion Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 I used to have Open Office 1.1 I then switched to MS Office For some reason when I save a word, excel, or any other document that open office assoiates itself with has no icon, or the wrong icon. digip Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Assuming your on Windows XP or later, Goto any folder, click "Tools", then "Folder Options", then "File Types" and go down to xls extension. Then click "Advanced" and you can choose an icon manually(select the OpenOffice executable or an Excel executable and it will pull up the icon for either program and you can choose what to set it to.) or pic your own custom icon. You can allways manually set programs to open with other programs and set the icons to anything you want except for standard shell icons. To do that you would need to either hack shell32.dll or make a registry hack, neither of which are easy tasks and can ultimately f*ck your pc. Hope this helps reset them for you.
