Would it be possible to copy the SAM file using Batch Scripts?

no. quite simply no, sam file is locked down when widnows starts, u need to get it b4 windows is loaded.

Which is why its harder than that to get the SAM. Try using a tool like pwdump or booting into live cd and extracting it.

If all you want to do is crack LM hashes, try Ophcrack live cd. You can alsu use it in combo with a USB drive to mount and copy teh hashes over to removable media: http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

What i did was just boot into Knoppix and copy the SAM to the USB drive, but i am currently working on a bootable USB drive SAM copier.  I'll start a thred in 'USB Hacks' when im done!

Also, with pwdump (latest version, 1.6) it is really fast, and with bat (use mine, or make your own) you can make it dump the passwords to a log or txt file.

Try it out!

Unless there using a AV (now sumthin along the lines of 70% of net users)
