Universal Customizer on Vista

Recommended Posts

When I try to run the Universal U3 customizer on Vista I get:

U3 Customizer can only customize one device at a time.

Please eject all drives except the one you want to customize.

In explorer I have the usual "CD Drive" U3 System and the memory stick nothing extra. In device manager I have my U3 device under Disk Drives and under Portable Devices.

Hello Penoze

I have now the same Problem as you.

I want to use universal customizer with vista.

I get the same message as you

"Please eject all drives except the one you want to customize. "

Have you found a solution for this Problem

thanks

I'm going to recommend using the 'search' button. And searching.

Then, you will come upon several suggestions for why it doesn't work, and one or two people saying 'success!'. If those people posted what they used to make it work, then I suggest trying that. More likely they did not, so pm them asking what they did, then post the reply here if it is successful for you as well.

that's for the sandisk loader program what you need and it works is Gonzors sight gonzors thanks man it works :)

You missed the point, all the LP-updaters, Universal Customizers and whatnot are made to

work with specific hardware-versions .

WOW! you've never coded before huh?!?

Stop being a bitch, man up and code it yourself if you want it so badly.

(you wont be able to do it btw)

--Im not trying to be mean, but if you actually do research and work on your own you'll learn a lot more then just asking other people to do it for you, its important to ask questions, and get guidance. just dont be the kid who just keeps complaining about something that you maybe able to find by using, i dunno Google

Actually it is possible. Anyone remember the um... memorex u3 updater thing? I just edited like it said... the newer version should be able to work on vista... but then i get an error saying Your U3 drive is already up to date.

Updater will now shut down.

... stupid firmware checking...

fire up olly, anyone?

Edit: ok that didnt go so well ....

reshacker 2121, "1095224" ... wth is that????? wut is 1095224?????

http://img78.imageshack.us/my.php?image=uploadlv0.jpg

or could it be that i am trying to use it on an updated flash drive? in which case, how to downgrade????

on vista i guess... cuz i can prolly do it on xp, but mah xp machines r trash now... gonna have to put everything back together.... (super-fast laptop w/ vista. no other way round it.)

memorex mustve somehow patched their updater against this ... any ideas?

@bugmenot: d000d, aint no coding necessary. try it.

Seems ok, no warnings with Avira,

Universal_Customizer.exe

File version 1.0.5.5

The version I had was 1.0.0.8

I don't have Vista tho, I have XP SP3

How did you get this djimsdaktar?

Is it possible to have the source code?

I want to use this for another project.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to bump such an old post, but I was deperate looking for a universial custimizer that worked on win7/vista. The link posted few posts above was dead, so I searched for the filename and finially found a link on a chinese website. I tried it and it actually works! Not only does it work pefectly on win7, but it also doesn't have that bug that makes 8 GB sticks just 4 GB large! I uploaded it to my rapidshare, here is the download link:

http://rapidshare.com/files/425616918/Univ...mizer_vista.rar

I registered so I could post this, but you are free to run a virus scan on this if you don't trust me.

PS: sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language.
