Void-Byte Posted October 2, 2020 Share Posted October 2, 2020 Hi @curis9929, On the WiFi Pineapple MKVII to begin firmware recovery you must first first unplug the WiFiPineapple MKVII from all power, hold down the button, plug it back in, and wait for "3 RED FLASHES", and then let go of the button. This will put it into firmware recovery mode. Where you can assign it the IP of 172.16.42.42 and gateway of 255.255.255.0 then visit http://172.16.42.1 and select the "Recovery" tab to upload the RECOVERY file. Yikes Posted October 4, 2020 Share Posted October 4, 2020 I never find this recovery tab, and wont connect to http://172/16/42/1 have to use https://172.16.42.1:1471 but still dont find a recovery tab or a way to apply the mk7_recovery_1.0.1.bin file. So i am at a loss tried it on win10 and win7 computer shows the Pineapple as a network but only when the computer usb to the tiny connector usb on the mk7 is attached to the computers. "Invalid Credentials" for root (my pw and "pineapplesareyummy") Powering off, holding down the button and powering on leads to red blinking light (let go) solid red forever. USB stick has firmware and config file, formatted EXT4. Boot normal, blue blinking, blue solid, USB drive lights up for a second .. no firmware upgrade. Only config.txt and firmware file. So. You didn't need to do an Factory reset for password reset. https://help.hak5.org/wifi-pineapple/faq/password-reset Quote On firmware versions 1.1.0 and later, you may reset a lost password by holding the Reset button for 7 seconds or longer. Upon success, the LED will flash a rainbow colour sequence and reboot. After the device reboots, you will be able to login with the password hak5pineapple. dark_pyrro Posted October 28, 2022 Share Posted October 28, 2022 It's not the driver, it's the USB hub chip. But I guess you have already figured that out (by reading your other recent post). Since the 7601 based 2.4 GHz radios are connected to the internal USB hub, they will be missing if there's something wrong with the onboard USB chip.
