Kali Linux VNC shows background and cursor

I have Kali installed on my RaspberryPI and I find that I have to log in using SSH and start the vnc server with the following:

vncserver[/CODE]

	which then presents me with this confirmation :

Log file is /root/.vnc/kali:1.log

I then go to TightVNC where I try to log in to 192.168.1.137:5901.

I get the usual unencrypted warnings etc and after typing in the password I get a screen which looks like this:

basically a patterned background with a huge cross for a cursor.

Can anyone assist with what is wrong here please.

Xfce is not working. You get the same Picture whe you Install Kali on your Phone in a Proot. Is your Pi headless or does it boot to Desktop when plugged in?
