detect human presence through walls

Recommended Posts

I am new to HackRF one,

I understand HackRF one can transmit and receive a particular RF in the range up to 6 Ghz,

can I choose a particular frequency say 5 Ghz,

and transmit the RF through walls , upon detecting human presence (by examining the reflected same frequency, and the time lapse of receiving it,) and calculate the direction and distance of the human from my antenna.

If it is possible, what directional antenna I need to purchase to use it on HackRF one ?

Lastly, where can I find the core instruction set of HackRF in order to do the needed software programming ?

Thanks

Raymond

Hello

I guess you are looking for a Lidar function that work similar to an echo bouncing back to you.                                                                                                                                                                          Read more on Lidar at various places but here is one to start with: http://lidarradar.com/                                                                                                                                                                               I'm not sure if this is possible or even intended to work with a Hackrf One but i am not saying that there ain't a way.

For some tutorials on getting started with SDR i would recommend you to have a look at the lessons at: https://greatscottgadgets.com/sdr/

Hope this get you started.
