dark_pyrro
Well, difficult to say. I connect my Crab to wireless networks using both escaped and non escaped PSKs. I've never had any problems really to connect to networks. If possible, try connecting it to an AP that doesn't require any escaped chars (either in the ESSID or the PSK). If that works, I would look a bit closer to how the ESSID/PSK that needs escaped chars really is escaped.
Leonardo7447
If you are trying to connect the Screen Crab to an AP make sure the AP's name does not have any special characters, spaces or chars in the AP's name.
dark_pyrro
There should be no reason to fully avoid using ESSIDs or PSKs containing special chars or spaces. WiFi issues related to the Crab most likely has other things affecting it all. It's possible to have Crab WiFi problems even with ESSIDs/PSKs that does not contain spaces and special chars as well. One issue could be using backslash to escape chars (as the docs say) which will lead to problems since the backslashes are echoed to wpa_supplicant.conf which makes WiFi fail.
