PurpleTeam
I followed the steps in the documentation below. However, the Bash Bunny doesn't do a factory reset and the firmware version is still the same. Any thoughts? https://docs.hak5.org/hc/en-us/articles/360023739914-Factory-Reset
kuyaya
Was there a police pattern blinking? If not, you hadn't done it right
PurpleTeam
Yes, there was the police pattern blinking. After it is done, it hasn't reset and still has the same firmware version.
Jtyle6
Have you downloaded the bunny updater from the download Site? https://downloads.hak5.org/bunny And copyed to the bunny! https://docs.hak5.org/hc/en-us/articles/360010470574-Updating-the-Bash-Bunny Edited November 5, 2019 by Jtyle6 Additional information on updater
PurpleTeam
Yes, it is on version 1.6 using the bash bunny updater. It does the police pattern blinking and is solid green, though, once it is done. It never starts flashing blue once it is done and I have to eject and then plug it in again. Once I plug it in, it starts flashing blue like normal. However, an actual factory reset doesn't appear to have occurred since it is still on version 1.6. PurpleTeam
Also, when I add the .deb packages to the tools folder, it doesn't turn into the magenta color and install the tools.
PurpleTeam
I ended up doing the following steps below: 1. Reformat the Bash Bunny. 2. Do a factory reset: https://docs.hak5.org/hc/en-us/articles/360023739914-Factory-Reset. 3. Download the ch_fw_1.6_305.tar.gz firmware - or whatever firmware version you need - from: https://downloads.hak5.org/bunny. Put the tar.gz on the Bash Bunny, but don't unzip the file. 4. Safely eject the Bash Bunny and let the firmware update complete. 5. Once this has been completed, you can download and copy over the Bash Bunny payloads from GitHub (https://github.com/hak5/bashbunny-payloads) and/or install the .deb tools like Impacket, Responder, etc. (https://forums.hak5.org/topic/40971-info-tools).
