However, the modem that has been supplied by my ISP is really crappy. When it works, it performs well, but once in a while it just freezes up, until it manually restarted. I talked to the technician, and he told me that my connection was EPON (had some doubts) but he was sure that the fiber line wasn’t locked to the modems from one particular brand, hence I am free to use any other modem I want. I found some really cheap ONTs on AliExpress, but all of them are GPON ones. If I buy those, will those work on my connection ?
