Relative newbie to NMAP here, I'm trying to audit my Network equipment in an automated fashion and I thought nmap may be the tool to help me with this.

All I need to to retrieve from the target is the host-name of a device and its ip address.

I understand that the command ssh-run should on a linux host return the results from a command line verbosely how ever I want to run a command against a switch/router/access point to get the information required.

Any Ideas?

Thanks
