Ultimate Unbricking guide not working

I have bricked my bashbunny as well, of course accident. I have tried firmware recovery and Ultimate Unbricking Guide. After the recovery is done (red and blue light has blinked for over 3-4 minutes), I am setting the switch to the switch1 position (furthest from the USB port). After this process my BB boots for a second (green light turns on) and then it turns off. I am still not able to access the Mass Storage partition of the Bash Bunny (or serial in). Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

I downloaded the update on my system and copied it on the BB.

You unzipped the update before copying to your Bash Bunny?

here is absolutely no smoke. It just got very hot while it was plugged in the power source while i was trying to recover

I think @kdodge is meaning that it being that hot is not a normal condition...

I think the best thing to do is to contact darren over twitter or so. I did so and he sent me a new one.
