How would one update to version 6?

You can update from within the menu system

Or you can download it to the LT /tmp/ which as its located in RAM has more space.

  • Foxtrot changed the title to [RELEASE] LAN Turtle Firmware v6.X

This URL give the Packages.gz file

https://downloads.hak5.org/packages/turtle/1907/Packages.gz

But the corresponding signature file is not found on this address.

An opkg update is successful with this URL (/etc/opkg/customfeeds.conf) and with signature checking disabled (/etc/opkg.conf)

Thanks for reporting this, I'll release an update as soon as possible with the fix.

There is a factory reset doc located at https://docs.hak5.org/hc/en-us/categories/360000979313-LAN-Turtle with the other docs. It is easy to reset. Just make sure you download the factory recovery firmware and not the the standard build. Also on my Turtle 3G the reset button was on the other side from the pictures in the manual but still worked as documented.

Hope it helps.

Is there some binary of urlsnarf available for v6.2 of the LAN Turtle firmware? It is available in the v5 recovery image but that one doesn't execute on v6.2. It is possible to grab the urlsnarf binary from the latest WiFi Pineapple firmware version (running OpenWRT 19.07x) and it executes on the Turtle but required libraries are missing and can't be installed using opkg on the Turtle. I've tried to temporarily add the Pineapple repo/feed to opkg to install libraries but it just messes up the Turtle. It would be good to have a working urlsnarf binary for the LAN Turtle v6.2 since it's available as a module via the Module Manager. As an alternative, the urlsnarf module should perhaps be flagged as broken and removed from possible install candidates of LAN Turtle v6.2 modules. It is possible though to recreate similar kind of functionality using variants of tcpdump execution.
