Dashiky Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I keep getting the message "unable to rip MP3 unable to find file make sure you have Pandora running in a FIRFOX browser" and i've cleary got firefox running Quote
Dashiky Posted January 20, 2007 Author Posted January 20, 2007 I've got the newest version of flash installed...I tried flash 8,but then pandora told me i needed to upgrade. Quote
Zoltan Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Read the posts in this forum. You need Flash 8, Flash 9 won't work. There are workarounds for the update-message. Just read the right threads... Quote
hot_firebird Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I'm having the same problem. I installed the flash switcher for Firefox and reverted back to 8.0 r24. I'll load up Pandora's Jar and I get the blue screen saying "let's go rip some Mp3s". Then, I do the workaround by opening pandora in a new tab by itself, then backing out of it, then it loads up fine. However, when I try to Grab This Song, it won't let me, telling me to make sure I'm using FireFox. I've read through the forums and it seems as if I'm doing everything suggested to make it work but it still is telling me to use FireFox, which from people's suggestions, seems to be a Flash issue, but I'm using the Flash converter and I know it works because Pandora initially tells me to upgrade to Flash 9 before I do the workaround. Any other tips? Quote

Zoltan Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 hmmm.... according to the log the file is copied properly, only without the CDDB info... did you try clicking on thegrad button several times after a while? Quote
hot_firebird Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I'll try that, so how long do I have to wait until I can copy the song? Quote
hot_firebird Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Still no luck, I tried multiple times when the song was nearly over and received the same message to make sure I'm using FireFox every time. *Edit, now it's not saying to make sure I'm using FireFox. It now says "Unable to rip mp3 null" in the java window. Quote
hot_firebird Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Nevermind, I found a program that was just released that allows you to use Internet Explorer instead of FireFox. Here's the URL, just in case you're interested. http://sourceforge.net/projects/pandorasmuggler Quote
jeko Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 think jar req's flashplayer 8 and pandora req's flashplayer 9 pandora keeps asking for upgrade. if I upgrade I keep getting the same msg: make sure u r using FIRFOX brows any hint to solve the problem? Quote
drasw Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I am having the same problem as everyone else. I can't figure out how to get version 8 back, but according to what I am reading it is not the solution. Is there any help out here? Thanks Quote
jeko Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I've tried a nice tool that lets u turn flash player into a different version... some other guys said it worked, but it turned to be useless to me. using flash 8 pandora asks me to upgrade; using flash 9 jar will not be able to rip... this is the link to flash switcher https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3649/ but I say again I had no luck at all! Quote
drasw Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 There has to be a simple way to get this up and runnng without all this confusion. Thanks! Quote
drasw Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I finally have it working although it took quite a lot of time and read many files. The key is not to upgrade to version 9 but you have to work around the request to update to latest Flash version. Here is the key Try this as a workaround. Keep your existing Flash version at 8 and load PJ in one tab. You will get the flash upgrade message. Right-click on the app and select "This Frame", then "Show only this frame" The application should then load. Hit the back button to return to PJ and everything should work. It actually takes about 3 tries to get it to work. Important to realize that I still keep gettng the error that it cannot find the file, make sure you are running pandora in Firefox, but look in the MP3 folder in c:pandora and the files are there. Quote
jeko Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Great job! it worked, even if I don't understand why it takes few tries before doing so. I updated the frame a couple of times and now it's still running well. tnx a lot! Quote
jeko Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 alternatively it is possible to open the frame in a new tab. It worked at the first attempt... but then pandora runs in a different tab than the jar. Quote
bassinyourface Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 hot_firebird ...so where does this program stores the files? which is the download folder? and about the PJ,i have flash 8 and still not working,i did that thing with mp3 countdown or something, changed it to 100 ..nothing ,same error, same message, that it cant find the file, make sure im using firefox..now..i have a question, i have mozilla 5.0 ..is that good or bad? thanks Quote
bassinyourface Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 oh wait,i found it,its c:pandora ,im talkin about pandora smuggler, ok but the nice part its that...the files appears there...but they all have 0 bytes :( Quote
bassinyourface Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 now i figured it out..so i have firefox 2 and i really have flash 8 ,i uninstalled flash 9 and reinstalled flash 8 ,when i double click a flash application it sias there its flash 8,i did modifiy that reg so i dont get the update message anymore,so everything its ok now but..still the same message..cant grab it...unable to find file, make sure etc..and all that ..so? did pandora just blocked the jar? or...its still something im missing here?
