ThePrestige
Hey Folks, I recently received my wifi pineapple nano and I'm slowly starting to pick it up! However, when I plug in and try to use the RT5370 adapter that was included from Hak5 (not ebay lol) I do not see wlan2 show up in the Client Wifi. I tried another Alfa adapter that I use for another machine and that did work, i was able to see a wlan2 connection. My question is, do I need to install some sort of drivers for the included RT5370 to work properly? Here is the dmesg I get when I plug it in: [ 72.090000] usb 1-1.3: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-platform [ 72.310000] usb 1-1.3: reset high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-platform [ 72.430000] ieee80211 phy2: rt2x00_set_rt: Info - RT chipset 5390, rev 0502 detected [ 72.480000] ieee80211 phy2: rt2800_init_eeprom: Error - Invalid RF chipset 0x5572 detected [ 72.490000] ieee80211 phy2: rt2x00lib_probe_dev: Error - Failed to allocate device Thank you so much in advance and let me know if I can supply any more information! aethernaut
Sorry, can't help as I don't have one but it does look like you are not the only one suffering this. https://forums.hak5.org/topic/46187-wlan2-not-connecting/https://forums.hak5.org/topic/45346-wifi-pineapple-usb-wifi-adapter-not-recognized/https://forums.hak5.org/topic/46167-i-am-in-need-of-a-pineapple-nano-mentor/https://forums.hak5.org/topic/45819-wifi-connectivity-not-working/ I don't think anyone from Hak5 has responded to any of these and the earliest post I have seen was February. You might be better off with an eBay adapter after all!!
Foxtrot
Hi, Could you please generate a debug log from the Help module and attach it to a reply in this forum thread? I'd like to look into any potential faults and narrow this down.

I contacted them with a few different issues and I got 1 response each time saying that someone will be getting in touch with me soon....then that's it. not a peep after that. 5 hours ago, Smodz011 said: ...doesn't seem like staff is trying to help at all with a product that they're putting out TBH, Im not sure that they have a staff. It really bums me out. I realize some people here are noobs (which I am) and demand help (which i dont feel that i do) which im sure gets frustrating! I have tried on my own to fix the issue and scoured the fourms and Google for help but I have not been able to fix the problem. Just some sort of acknowledgement would be great. A lot of people are here to learn and in turn contribute to the pentesting community. But this company is very discouraging!
Foxtrot
Hi, I really want to apologise for my delay in responding to the thread, we've been very busy working behind the scenes on upcoming stuff that we're excited to announce shortly. I've reviewed the debug output (thank you!), and it seems that unfortunately you both just received bad units. If you could both send me the support ticket numbers you have to me via a PM on the forums, I will get new ones sent out to you asap. Thanks

Thanks I purchased this same thing back in May and initially had it working with Wireshark in monitor mode. No longer seems to and I can't seem to get it to work with my Kali Linux VM. Any tips? Have seen issues with the device when using VirtualBox if that is what you are using for VMs as well.
