How to I make a sort of Update Update script?

I know it's not a very good description, but what I want to do is create a script that downloads the newest Adaware Definitions and unzips them if possible, downloads the latest AVG Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destory. It would really help me if it goes out every night or so and updates them to the latest, of course getting rid of the old. It would be on Ubuntu Linux.

If each program has a command line way of updating than you can schedule a batch script to do that...
