Hi there!

I have a question: Is it possible to put my Android smartphone in Hotspot mode (then I have no WLAN on my mobile) and use this hotspot for Wifi client mode - and at the same time I need on the same smartphone access to the management console to my pineapple (without USB tethering ... just wireless). Is this possible?

Thank you in advance,

Michael

I don't think Android Smartphones have that capability. I've tried this a year or two ago as well with a little different set up but didn't work for me.

For me on Android I would need to use my main phone as the hotspot as it has the data contract (Or a 3G/4G USB modem). And then use an old/burner for the UI/terminal to manage the Pineapple. At least it gives you the wireless part you were after.

Thank you, that would be the best solution for me.

Whoa, burner phones and main phones. How many phones>?

Why not use autossh and remote in on the same phone?

If you want a perfect companion device that can run both on one with multi-task management. I'd recommend oneplus. Not only does it do this stock, it is customozible and runs nethunter.
