wham1010 Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Hi there! I have a question: Is it possible to put my Android smartphone in Hotspot mode (then I have no WLAN on my mobile) and use this hotspot for Wifi client mode - and at the same time I need on the same smartphone access to the management console to my pineapple (without USB tethering ... just wireless). Is this possible? Thank you in advance, Michael
PJ131 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 I don't think Android Smartphones have that capability. I've tried this a year or two ago as well with a little different set up but didn't work for me.

For me on Android I would need to use my main phone as the hotspot as it has the data contract (Or a 3G/4G USB modem). And then use an old/burner for the UI/terminal to manage the Pineapple. At least it gives you the wireless part you were after.

handletwo0nne Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Whoa, burner phones and main phones. How many phones>? Why not use autossh and remote in on the same phone? If you want a perfect companion device that can run both on one with multi-task management. I'd recommend oneplus. Not only does it do this stock, it is customozible and runs nethunter.
AmbientTech Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Surprisingly, the newest crop of Samsung phones (Galaxy S10) *can* be both a client on WiFi *and* host a second WiFi AP in the phone. (WiFi sharing)
