jayinoz
Hi folks, I've been messing with Windows for 20 years, but new to the pineapple. All over people seem to be struggling to connect their pineapples to the internet. Is there a decent write-up of how networking works on these devices? (I'm slowly putting in together in my head that the pineapple has an IP that is redirected via USB to the host IP which is connection shared to the hosts internet connection, but its pretty confusing to a noob). Is there any troubleshooting information to let you know either what you have forgotten to do, (assuming you have been through the many tutorials), or what is potentially broken in your set up. There seems nothing more than follow thee instructions and cross your fingers and hop really hard that it works. And if it doesn't, well... jayinoz
ssh'd in to the pineapple and its showing no default route - is this correct? Couldn't ping anything from the pineapple directly (could not resolve name) route add default gw 172.16.42.42 and suddenly I can ping and resolve names ok. When I attempt to load bulletins from wifipineapple.com it still tells me 'Error connecting to wifipineapple.com. Please check your connection', but takes a lot longer to do it this time. I have and can ping wifipineapple.com ok from the pineapple itself. ???

jayinoz
A laptop reboot seems to have fixed my problems. Now I have Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface default 10.43.1.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 wlan1 10.43.0.0 * 255.255.240.0 U 0 0 0 wlan1 10.43.1.1 * 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 wlan1 172.16.42.0 * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 br-lan
