Looks like its not finding the dump tool.

root@Pineapple:~# find / -name hcxdumptool
root@Pineapple:~#

I'm usually doing testing on my Tetra, as it's easier and faster to work on. But luckily i have a Nano as well.

So i tried testing the latest version of hcxdumptool on my Nano. No problems. Works flawlessly.

Zylla did you ever get the items needed to keep helping the community?  You had mentioned your motherboard was done.

Hi ph@ntom! ?

No. Sadly I haven't gotten it yet. I've managed to keep the tool updated with the original source-code, whenever it changes. But some work (like coding for the Module) is not possible for me at the moment. I hope to get back on track as soon as possible. ?

Hi Zylla,

I was able to get hcxdumptool working on my NANO.  I installed it onto my Tetra but whenever I run it, my TETRA immediately reboots itself.  What logs should I pull to send to you to help diagnose.

Thanks for the help!

That doesn't sound to good. What command exactly do you run that causes it to reboot? ?

What would be a major help for you to be able to work?

hcxdumptool -i wlan1 -o test.pcapng --enable_status 3

Strange. Same command works perfectly for me.
I usually start by setting the interface into monitor-mode before running hcxdumptool. But it should also work without doing it (It will set it to monitor mode by itself)
I tested the same command on my Tetra, running the latest version of hcxdumptool, and no issues.

Are you having issues with your Tetra when doing other things as well?
I've seen some people having identical issues when doing other stuff, like running PineAP, etc.

Links are not updated, but you can check the repo manually to download them until I get them updated tonight ?

I've updated both tools, and fixed the links in the first post.
Also: @Bigbiz asked how to use this on his linux machine.
You need to download the original source-code for hcxdumptool and hcxtools, and then compile it. (Make sure you have the necessary dependencies installed)

I turned everything off, rebooted the Tetra, put wlan1 in monitor mode then ran hcxdumptool.

It worked for about 1-2 seconds then crashed.  Given that it runs on my Nano I think this is an issue on the Tetra.

I plugged in my Alpha adapter and it worked when I used the alpha adapter.  Guess I need to contact support.

Thanks for the help.

This now supports GPSd, I wonder which gps dongle would work with the pineapple and who could update the PMKID module rto display the gps location of each pwned network :)

OK,

Just now, I updated Nano firmware to 2.4 and re-downloaded and reinstalled both hcxdumptool and hcxtools.

I've used the dumptool to capture PMKIDs without a problem, but when using hcxpcaptool it is still throwing a bus error.

I've finally gotten around to updating the PMKID module with a couple of new features. v0.3 includes the following additions.

  • Changes to config (specifically the command line args) are now persisted (cc: @PixL)
  • The ability to switch between include and exclude as the filter mode is provided (cc: @Just_a_User)

Both tools have been updated to follow changes from upstream. We're now at version "16".
I've also fixed the "Bus error" message on hcxpcaptool. (Thank @skylark for reporting it)
Everything should now work perfectly. ?

Please let me know about any issues, and i'll look into them asap. ?
