Don't know how much help i expect to get here but it can't hurt to try

My school blocked VPN's and the kids are *outraged* (like some of them tried to start a small riot and i've heard rumors of a protest) but before i start i will give my reasons hear me out ok? imma start    [ the internet is a free place and while i agree it has some bad things i do not believe that it should be censored in any way (apart from the most obvious stuff or obviously fucked up stuff not illegal just fucked up like  "red rooms" (if those exist i don't think they do) for example drugs or guns like the stuff on the darknet let that be on there the existence of the site is not hurting anyone it's what people do with the things bought on them ( i am not saying the thing bought should not be illegal either)so the idea of them censoring us just pisses me off but i didn't care enough about that to do anything about it the thing that pushed me over the edge was the fact they are doing this on our PERSONAL devices things we bought with our money that were provided to us by a outside source walmart best buy .ect now my VPN is not blocked as of this moment but the whole personal device thing has me pissed enough to help the students out i understand the risks and possible bad outcomes but it's honestly worth it to me right now this is NOT ok in school or anywhere else for that matter ok not that i have made this clear i believe my reasons are valid you may not if that is the case please dont tell me you wont help or that its wrong this does not help anyone this is not a joke to me i want this problem fixed now and since i seem to be the only one doing anything about it on a technical standpoint i have no help at school (at least none from anyone with experience in this field) i have tried most things and they are not blocked by the school website blocker or admin downloads but when i try to use them sophos security blocks it if i could get this disabled that would help alot (for almost every aspect of all my problems) but most kids are not using the schools laptops and that also goes against my previous statements so i want bypasses for the wifi itself for pc and phones i was thinking i could maybe hack into the wifi settings myself but that would only be temporary as they would reset it rather quick i have tried shadowsocks and does not seem to work though i am most likely using wrong and i dont really like the fix itself i want something that everyone can use in a few quick seconds something that EVERYONE can use no matter how bad they are with tech as i would need to have people spread this to others who would give it to more people and so on and so on until the whole school has their last shred of freedom back again any help would be appreciated as for once i am alone in my fight the people who normally do this stuff with me think it will be too hard a task to complete or are unaffected and don't care about it i unlike them wont stop trying       Whoever helps me thank you -Rayvn

It's the school's network, their rules.  Here in the US schools are mandated to filter K-12 school internet.  We're also blocking anything that can harm the local network, or computers.  So, your vpn is blocked.  Go watch netflix or download your torrents at home.

Hacking the school's wifi is illegal, you won't find any help here.  Crap like that at my schools would have gotten you either suspended or permanently banned from school computer resources.

As someone who works as the IT support for multiple schools I must back up what Barry and Mr Protocall have said.

It's not your network. It's not your equipment. You are there to learn and not attempt to break their systems.

You want to look at Netflix, Torrent, watch porn etc, do it at home, or on your own data on your cell/mobile.

Remember, your parents likely signed an agreement regarding use of school systems, and you may have signed it too (though I doubt you read it). Find that agreement. Re-read it. Realise that you are possibly facing suspension, expulsion, or maybe even criminal charges.

I think there seems to be a confusion  between"Censoring" the internet as a global interconnect and with an organization controlling access and use of it's own equipment.  The organization, in this case, is a school for children.   However Rayvn should understand that in work, in government there are also limitations.   There is a difference between institutional or employment access and retail use from an internet provider.  There is a legal and even moral difference.   Rayvn would do well to put more effort into grammar, civics, and understanding the world around that is accessible rather than one which is not and which Rayvn can't even explain what they expect to get from it.  It's just a "principle" except actually - it isn't.

For Rayvn's information - any institution or employer can legally control and even monitor the use of it's own equipment by students, workers or whatever.  If caught in these endeavors, Rayvn hasn't a legal leg to stand on. A warrant is not required to monitor telephone or internet within an institution or place of employment.   I have terminated employees based on monitoring.  Their outrage over their "Rights" did not even find a lawyer willing to help them.

Rayvn needs to focus on graduating from school and entering a good college.

Well, most cases there is a signature in the contract saying that they understand communications can be monitored. Hence no warrant ;-).

I would suggest a couple things.

(1) dont have cellular data dont need it phones are little more then glorified mp3 players to me seeing as i dont have anyone i need to call (my current phone is from 2011 and doesn't have calling unlocked) (2) i didn't expect any help (3) @Rkiver i never signed ANYTHING nor did my parents (trust me i would know i keep tabs on everyone and everything pertaining to me or my friends who may affect me in the long run i know when and where they breathe and move i know that sounds overkill but trust me i have very good reasons that i would rather not explain here) (4)  @Struthian thanks for the advice but i not going to collage ever yes it makes you smart but there is a huge trade off it makes you poor for the rest of your life stuck drowning in student loans forcing you to live in the middle (or lower middle) class while this is not true for everyone it is true for a majority of people a majority i do not envy joining (5) and finally i no longer need your help anyway i have had a unforeseen and almost impossible advancement. I no longer need to break in. I have the key
