codeforge Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Hi, i need to simulate gps signal within a room of 80meters. What hardware do you suggest? Thanks Quote
Ranish Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) This Github works with both of the ones u mention https://github.com/osqzss/gps-sdr-sim Havn’t tried them but should work in theory. Remember simulating GPS is probably illegal in most countries. And should only be done in RF shielded labs. Edited December 31, 2017 by Ranish Disclaimer Quote
codeforge Posted January 1, 2018 Author Posted January 1, 2018 Hi, I already see that site but with it i can get signal with max 50cm range. I need to simulate gps in a large room. We know law and in a shielded room there isn't problem. Quote
Ranish Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Can say for sure because I don’t have access to a room the size you mention and can’t find where you found the range of it but I recon that a hack rf in the middle of the 80meter room (if shielded so no interference) would do the trick Quote
ZodiacTiger Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 The HackRF doesn't have an onboard clock that is accurate enough to simulate/spoof GPS signals. However, this can be done by buying a cheap external clock that plugs into the HackRF board inputs. Ebay has tons of Chinese sellers who advertise these for very cheap(around $15). You could buy an Ettus USRP B200 or B210 for around $1,216, A bladeRF x40 for $420, or a LimeSDR for $299. LimeSDR is full-duplex, MIMO, and superior to BladeRF. The LimeSDR even matches much of the USRP's B210 specs. The only (temporary) drawback to the LimeSDR is that it doesn't have the same level of software support as the USRP. However, LimeSDR is completely open source and software development is moving very fast.
