Rkiver
Control Panel, Add Remove Programs, select program, remove. After that, go to where it is in your programs folder, find it, shift delete. Assuming windows.

Most antivirus have a specific piece of software, or specific method, to remove them. They can embed themselves pretty well in a system (for good reason; it wouldn't be very useful to have an antivirus just be deleted by any virus that asked nicely). Look it up on the antivirus creator's official website, they'll probably have a tool to remove the software correctly.

You just said you downloaded and installed the program and now you don't know what it is and suspect it's an anti-virus? How dodgy is that.. I, too, am a bit skeptical that.. Your attempting to delete an 'anti-virus' from a completely new laptop/PC The 'anti-virus' cannot be removed for some unknown reason Your immediately going towards a CMD-prompt solution to resolve the issue It's even an anti-virus in the first place But you know, don't want to seem like I see you as a stereotypical script kiddie trying to liberate his laptop from the evil IT guys..
