Output Power- Can it be turned down

Recommended Posts

Maybe just not seeing it. I know people get giddy about big output power, but there are times where less power is situationally better. I don’t see on the Tetra/Nano (nor did I see on Mark IV or V) a UI option for adjusting output power. Perhaps at CLI?

thanks-

There is no UI option for changing the TX-Power of the radios, you can however change the radio power with the "iw" tool.

iw phy wlanX set txpower fixed 10mBm

10 being just an example.

That’s the stuff. Thanks, and FWIW would be a nice UI add

I think it would be a good idea too. I know a few WiFi businesses do it for their APs and stuff (Ubiquiti/UniFi for example), and it makes sense. You don't want some guy across the street tapping into your WiFi..

You're supposed to be tapping into theirs
