The following link is to a Google Sheet that I started.  It list VID and PID for vendors and what it is.  I made this for a quick reference to be able to change them on the fly if needed.   Anybody that clicks on the link can edit the doc and update with VID/PID that you use also.  Plz keep the same format and label the VID/PID with what vendor and what it is (i.e keyboard, mouse so on).  Hope this helps some of you!!

EDIT: First time with a google sheet so still learning, It has now been enabled to edit as long as you have the link!!!

Why does it have 2 VID columns? Did someone overwrite the PID column with the VID column?

It's a good idea for the sheet though!

Fixed, I keep a hard copy just in case.

Can you add these? I don't have edit access.

Device Model: Lenovo Keyboard 1021
VID: 0461
PID: 4E04

Device Model: Lenovo Mouse MOJUUO
VID: 17EF
PID: 608D

Device Model: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 (Bluetooth 4 adapter)
VID: 0CF3
PID: E360

EDIT: Thanks for invite, however I HATE Sheets for auto-correcting 4E04 as 4*10+4. Stupid. Logical, but STUPID.

Ive had some troubles with numbers that start with zero, the table will get rid of the zero and I don't know how to fix that. This is my first google sheet and not a whole bunch of experience with excel, but Im working on it as I go.

Yeah. I know the feels. However, what I found is if you select some text (you write it in and then before you press enter you select it) and then you go to the toolbar and press the 'More formats' button (has a '1 2 3' on it, next to the '.00->' and '$' etc.) and then select 'Plain text' it should just stay as you input it. You could potentially Ctrl+A all the tabs and make them all plain text so it doesn't keep happening.

Here is a list too :

http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids

I started going through that to find certain vendors and products and thought Id make a quick reference guide for most common used Vendors such as Dell or HP depending on the engagement.  Might make it easier.

Ah,  I see. My bad then.??

Its all good any resources to help others is awesome.  I never figured a VID/PID would ever matter, but I found myself being wrong.

PS -  I had full permission along with the IT supervisor next to me when I did this.  I had a basic ducky script that just calls a website when inserted, I used it on a machine on the network and nothing happened, I was puzzled because I'm not an IT guy or a sec specialist, just a hobby for me.  But as soon as I changed the PID/VID to a dell keyboard.... boom drivers downloaded and replug and boom there was the website.  So I just figured if it can help me as a hobbiest, then it would probably help somebody thats in the field and might need to find a quick vendor ID.

I got the format fixed for the ID numbers to plain text vs default where 0100 would show as 100.  Now its set to plain text for easier editing.
