Nano not showing up in ifconfig

I could not connect to 172.16.42.1 so i decided to ping it and got nothing. Did a lsusb and the device shows up but its not showing up in ifconfig. wp6.sh says waiting on pineapple to be connected and there is a solid blue light on the nano. Using Archlinux. What did i not do correct?
