Potentially dumb question re: MicroSSD card

I pre-formatted a microSSD card as FAT and installed it in the Nano. The Nano recognized the card, but installs of modules to the SSD  fail. System log shows:

What do I need to do to fix this? remove/reformat? Am I using the wrong format?

Yes reformat the sd card on the nano itself under the Advanced tab you will find a box that says usb and an arrow next to it.  click the arrow and then select format and you sould be good
