Modules- internal only?

Using the 3.0 Beta firmware. When I install a module it gives button "install to internal storage", nothing about sd card. There is an sd card in the Pineapple but not sure what use it is. What can the sd card be used for?

 

Unrelated but rather than start a new thread, with 3.0 firmware the dip switches all go up, right?

Yes the dip switches all go up unless you program them to do anything else specifically like toggle wlan1. 

As far as the micro sd card goes you may have to format it for it to recognize it as swap memory.  Otherwise it will not see the micro sd card and wont use it for available storage.

Format it over ssh? That's gonna require some googling....

Should have looked at this bfore upgrading to 3.0 I think. Supposedly there was a format option in older firmware; don't see it here.

fdisk -l does show it as /dev/sda1

It was NTFS, now its ext4, relearning fdisk......  Now to relearn mnt... believe it should mount as /sd

OK, mounted it as /sd. Now I have the option o install modules to internal or sd. Rock and roll :)

I am surprised there isn't an option somewhere in the 3.0 as there is on the nano PineAP.  Glad you got it figured out though.

There is an option to format... click the down arrow in the usb header under advanced xD
