thisisftg Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Is there a way to make a xbox playing halo 2 act as like a score board for a LAN party instead of pressing the "Back" button on the controller. This could be projected on a wall with a projector for everybody who is playing to see everybodys score. ???? FTG Quote
Famicoman Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'm sure you can whip up some php that targets score it the xbox's packets. Quote
anyedie Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'm sure you can whip up some php that targets score it the xbox's packets. that would be really kewl. Quote
Famicoman Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Yeah, but nearly impossible to acomplish. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 i have a start because my xbox is already modded... , if that would help in any way? Quote
Famicoman Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 There almost has to be a modded profile out there that will just display the score and nothing else. The problem would be not being able to spectate. it would actually have to play... Quote
golfing22 Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 You could always somehow mod a xbox controller so that it will somehow hold down the back key all the time, and then you could just set up another xbox and add the player into the game. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 i dont want the players to be able to see the scoreboard players name or even know it exists so we can still have 16 players on system link and not 15 because of the scoreboard taking up a player space on the multiplayer game... Quote
Sparda Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 You are probably going to have to ask microsoft to do this... at least legally. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 Why would Microsoft/Bungie help me infrenge copyrights and restrictions that they set in place to keep me from hacking halo 2 and the xbox Quote
Sparda Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Well that's the point... if it was MS that made the 'mod' it wouldn't be illegal. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 hmmm its a good idea but if they were to do something like this i would probley have to wait until halo 3 for them to put them in Quote
cooper Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Don't assume. ASK! Worst that can happen is that they say 'no'. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 ok if you guys say so... Uhhh... What's Microsoft's E-mail, or mailing address, FAX ???? anybody know any... Quote
cooper Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Jeez. Kinda sad that you're not aware the game was made by Bungie. http://www.bungie.net/Games/Halo2/ Start reading here. Quote
SordFish Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Not to rain on anyones parade but all network trafic is encrypted afaik. This has been dreamed up many times before, especially with xlink etc. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 yes iam not Stupid I knew the halo series was made by bungie!!!! this is for system link not xbox live... and Encryptions can be broken no matter how strong, or who they are made by... i have xlink kia, by the way... Quote
Bill The Man Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Why do you need a score board any way. If you really want to know the score that bad just look in your lower right hand corner of the screen and it will tell you your score and the person who is in firsts score. Spectators can then just go to a screen and see who is in the lead then. Think smart not complicated. Quote
thisisftg Posted December 16, 2006 Author Posted December 16, 2006 this project is just for fun not to replace anything... so complicated is more fun, for me at least... Quote
